Building a Community
Tatou, Tatou
Our Ongoing Focus
Cultural Prosperity
We are deeply committed to fostering cultural prosperity within our community of Sydney.
Our programs and initiatives will celebrate the rich heritage, language, arts, and customs of the Māori people, creating a nurturing environment for cultural growth and preservation.
Future Generations
We have a strong vision for the future generations.
We believe in the importance of passing down the knowledge, values, and traditions of our tupuna (ancestors) to the next generation.
Through engaging educational programs, expos, cultural workshops, and mentorship initiatives, we aim to equip our youth with the tools they need to thrive, ensuring the continued strength and resilience of the Māori culture in Sydney for generations to come.
2026 Focus Areas
For Sydney Marae Alliance, 2026 is the year of action. We are building community connection and starting the construction of the landmark project
Building Partnerships
We believe in the power of collaboration. In 2026, we are actively forging strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, local communities, iwi groups, and organisations that share our vision. These partnerships are essential to ensure the Sydney Marae Alliance is a thriving, sustainable, and inclusive space for all.
Building Community
Our people and our community are at the heart of this kaupapa.
Over the coming year, we'll be bringing whānau together through events and gatherings, strengthening cultural capacity, getting hands on with the care and upkeep of our leased land, and connecting with our community wherever they are, both online and in person.
Start Phase 1 of Construction
The current next step is to complete the construction certificate and get ready to commence construction. Watch out for TRADE ME day on June 6th, 2026.
