SMA Whānau Day 2026
Closing the digital divide — one young person at a time.
Maori, Pacific and First Nations young people are critically underrepresented in Australia's technology and digital industries.
Whānau Day exists to change that.

📅 11th November 2026 10am - 3pm 📍Western Sydney, Whitlam Centre Liverpool, NSW 👥1,000 students Years 7–12
This November, 1,000 students from Māori, Pacific and Indigenous backgrounds are coming together in Western Sydney for a day that's anything but ordinary. Think hands-on tech, real career convos, cultural celebration and experiences you won't find in a classroom.
Tech is one of the biggest pathways to financial freedom and owning your future — and you deserve a seat at that table. Whānau Day puts you face to face with the tools, the companies and the people who can help get you there.
Why it matters Less than 1% of people working in Australian tech are Māori, Pacific or Indigenous. The digital economy is booming — and our communities need to be part of it. When 1,000 of us show up in one room, the ripple effect goes way beyond that one day.
Play with cutting-edge tech at Arterra, connect with Digital Natives, meet influencers and education leaders, and start imagining what your future could actually look like.
